DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION OF BIOGAS PLANTS

Express Drainage Solutions Kenya Limited is an innovative and quality-oriented company. we have been professionally involved in the planning, design, construction and service of biogas plants.

The company provides high-quality technology and builds agricultural, industrial and landfill biogas plants on sewage treatment plants and biomethane plants. Our biogas plants are characterized by high efficiency of biogas yield and technological advancement.

Types of Biogas We Design and Construct

The Difference between Biomass and Biogas

They are used to treat organic waste. The organic waste is placed in a chamber where it decomposes without oxygen. This process produces methane, which is then used to generate electricity. Fixed dome biogas plants are typically used to treat sewage or food waste, but they can also be used to treat agricultural waste.

It has an immovable gas holder and a displacement pit. The upper part of the digester stores the gas while the waste is displaced in the displacement pit. Pressure increases with an increase in gas.

Consists of underground bio-digesters and movable gas holders. The gas is collected in the drum above the digester. This moves up and down according to the gas collected.

How to Turn Biogas into Electricity

It’s a plant that uses a balloon to store the methane gas produced by decomposing organic matter. The balloon is connected to a system of pipes and valves that allow the gas to be used for cooking, heating, or generating electricity. The plant typically consists of a digester, a balloon, and a gasifier. Balloon biogas plants are often used in rural areas where there is no access to natural gas pipelines. They can also be used in urban areas to supplement traditional gas supplies.

Low-cost polyethylene tube digesters are anaerobic digesters that can be used to treat organic waste. The digester is a chamber where microorganisms break down organic matter in the absence of oxygen. This process produces methane, which can be used as a fuel, and a nutrient-rich effluent that can be used as fertilizer. Low-cost polyethylene tube digesters are an affordable option for small-scale waste treatment. They are simple to construct and operate, and they do not require a lot of space.

Types of Biogas Waste

We provide solutions for all kinds of animal wastes to bio-energy. This starts from the Planning, Designing, Construction, Commissioning and Operation of Biogas Plants.
Animal wastes such as COW DUNG, POULTRY / CHICKEN LITTER, PIG MANURE etc. are valuable sources of nutrients and renewable energy. Anaerobic digestion (AD) is considered as one of the most important and advantageous processes for animal waste treatment. It will reduce the environmental hazards, while at the same time providing biogas for local energy needs.

Commercial energy crops are high-yielding crops, densely planted and are processed to bio-fuel and burnt to generate power. The energy crops are grass, maize, oats, straw, water hyacinth etc. The wastes from the farm can also be used to generate biogas, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It has the potential to solve energy problems of the future world. The Bio-sludge from this process is used as fertilizer thus replacing the synthetic fertilizer.

Food wastes are rich in organic matter and are nuisance for disposal because of space constraints and the release of methane during the degradation of organics. We are providing solutions for domestic and industrial food & kitchen waste. We convert this food to biogas which in turn is used as fuel in the kitchen or power generation.

Wastewater sludge management is an economic and environmental challenge for our clients, and biogas recovery is a way of adding value to operations. It consists of digesting the sludge to reduce its volume and to produce biogas, which can create renewable energy.
Express Drainage Solutions Kenya Limited specializes in the design and construction of biogas systems that convert organic waste into renewable cooking fuel, Bio-toilets. The Bio-Toilet solution connects to the biogas system, enabling the human waste from the toilet to be converted into cooking fuel in an elegant, user-friendly way that does not require a connection to the sewage or water grid.

MSW (Municipal solid waste) handling and disposal are big concerns in urban areas where local government and municipalities face issues due to lack of proper places for conventional disposal/landfill areas and environmental problems. As conventional practices, most of the MSW will be landfilled and part will be recycled, combusted and composted(organic fraction).

We are providing suitable solutions for handling MSW from Municipalities to cities and counties to convert MSW to Biogas Energy through Anaerobic Digestion. This will reduce the quantity of material being landfilled, and stabilize the organic material before disposal to reduce Environmental impacts from air and water emissions and recover energy.

In Kenya and other countries, many of the AD plants completely failed due to improper detailed engineering mainly pre-treatment where separation of inorganic, plastics and other materials from the organic fraction of the waste takes place. We will conduct a feasibility study to ensure the maximum receiving of organic fraction of MSW for better efficiency of the AD system and make lesser ROI of the project.
